Cough Up Campaign
We’ve put together a fantastic work place giving proposal, where employees can make contributions to the Asthma Foundation of WA directly from their pay. This can make a big difference to the Foundation, and to the amount of tax you pay each year! E-mail fundraising@asthmawa.org.au for further details.
Corporate Support
The Asthma Foundation of Western Australia (AFWA) seeks the support of corporate WA. We offer corporate sponsors three tiers of partnerships, to be offered to, and negotiated with, specific and selected prospective business partners. Relationships will be mutually beneficial.
- Gold Partner: One only, specific conditions TBA
- Silver Partner: Up to three partners, specific conditions TBA
- Bronze Partner: Up to five partners, specific conditions TBA
Additionally, prospective partner organisations will be presented with an options package outlining different opportunities for supporting the Foundation. The options package will address a variety of possible organisational needs including profile, teambuilding, the “feel good factor” and general social responsibility commitments. Specific information will be provided in respect to:
- Payroll deductions (“Cough Up Kit”)
- A checklist on how to organise events such as a fundraising breakfast, quiz night and golf/bowls day
- The sale of merchandise currently held by the Foundation
- Distribution of collection cans
- Volunteering
Hold a corporate fundraising event to support the Foundation
Raising money for charity is always lots of fun, and gives you plenty of feel good moments too, knowing you’re doing something enjoyable that’s worthwhile as well. But corporate fundraising is also a great opportunity to build loyalty and relationships with clients and sponsors too by engaging them in fun activities with your staff.
The Asthma Foundation of WA recognises this, and has put together this fundraising ideas document that any business can implement successfully. We are also developing foolproof “blueprints” for you to utilise in your workplace for specific types of events. You will raise much needed funds for us, and we’ll provide you with great ideas to engage your stakeholders and clients.
Corporate fundraising events could also be a great opportunity for you to engage your competitors in your field/sector, and pit staff teams against each other! Imagine the media attention a Woodside vs BHP relay or bowl-off could attract! Your staff will have fun and you will portray a positive image of your business to the community at the same time. And don’t forget, your business may wish to match any funds raised, which will be a fully tax deductible donation.

In-kind support
Utilising the expertise from companies 'in kind' is a great way to be able to contribute to the cause of helping people with asthma. Companies may be able to provide some of their expertise to the Foundation to provide a cost saving for the running of the organisation. For further information please email bdm@asthmawa.org.au.
Donations of stock and goods for AFWA prizes, raffle items, or events to witness a cost saving for the Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The latest example of this was with Summitt Storage who provided over $2,000 worth of shelving urgently needed for the storage area of the Foundation.
