2015 New Investigator Grants - CLOSED
The aim of these grants is to attract new researchers to the asthma field and to give them a "step-up" into the competitive national grant funding system. A New Investigator Grant allows new researchers to collect the preliminary data required to apply for ongoing funding by other bodies (eg NH&MRC). New investigators are defined as those not having previously been named as a Chief Investigator on national competitive grants.
New Investigator grants of no more than $25,000 (plus GST) are preferred.
2015 Project Research Grants - CLOSED
These are traditional project grants, aimed primarily at established investigators.
Project Research grants of no more than $25,000 (pus GST) are preferred.
The Fiona Staniforth Scholarships Award - CLOSED
2015 PhD Scholarship Top-Up
Researchers who currently hold or have been approved for a full PhD Scholarship from another body, are eligible to apply for a Scholarship Top-Up from the Foundation to assist in their studies. Their PhD should apply to full time research in an area relevant to people with asthma. Assistance of up to $7,500 p.a. is available for the life of the PhD, to a maximum of three years.
The Honours Scholarship encourages students of high academic capacity by providing them with exposure to asthma-based research excellence within a Western Australian University and encouraging them to see themselves as part of a research team. The scholarship is for one year only and attracts a stipend of $5,000.
Vi Watson Vacation Scholarships - CLOSED
Vi Watson Vacation Scholarships are open to all WA-based university students undertaking research projects relevant to asthma. Funding of $200 per week over 10 weeks will provide students with the financial support required to continue their research over the summer break.
