The Asthma Foundation WA is delighted to announce a new fundraising initiative, proudly supported by Richard Graham, Head Coach of the Emirates Western Force!
It is hoped that the campaign, titled "Tackling Asthma", will raise more than $35,000 for the Asthma Foundation WA, to go towards vital respiratory and asthma research, education and training.
The campaign was launched on Wednesday 22 February at Black Tom's in West Perth, where guests were treated to a full plate of a very tasty breakfast!
Head Coach of the Emirates Western Force Richard Graham is the ambassador for the campaign and has asthma himself. The Asthma Foundation WA is very grateful to him for offering his support to this initiative.
The "Tackling Asthma" campaign involves the support of 14 companies who have each committed to donate $1 to the Asthma Foundation WA for every tackle laid by the Emirates Western Force during the 2012 season.
Richard Graham was the special guest at the campaign launch, which was hosted by Channel 9’s Mark Readings. Richard charmed the breakfast attendees, offering entertaining anecdotes about his time so far at the Emirates Western Force, some great insight into what goes on behind the scenes at the club and some personal stories about his own battle with asthma and the impact it has had on his life.
All 14 companies that are supporting the campaign throughout the season were present at the breakfast, as well as Foundation partners Lotterywest and Telethon. CEO of the Emirates Western Force Vern Reid was in attendance, as well as Asthma Foundation WA CEO David Johnson and according to all reports, a very enjoyable morning was had by all!

The campaign will run throughout the entire 2012 Super Rugby season, with a tally being kept on a weekly basis of tackles and money raised, so keep your eye on the AFWA website to stay updated on the growing tally!
