The Annual General Meeting of the Asthma Foundation WA was held last night at the Foundation's office in West Perth.
The meeting was the 45th for the Asthma Foundation WA, and reviewed the organisation's activities over the last 18 months.
Two retiring board members were presented with gifts of thanks from the organisation. Barry Rubie, who served as the CEO of the Asthma Foundation for 12 years, and then as a board member for 18 years, and Wayne Thomas, who has served for 18 years, both stepped down.
The Asthma Foundation WA thanks both Barry and Wayne for their vast contributions to the organisation.
Several important constitutional amendments were approved at the meeting. These were largely designed to modernise the Foundation's approach to operations.
It is envisaged that the Asthma Foundation WA will be one of the five most recognisable charities in the state over the coming years.
Subsequent to this, a number of changes have been implemented, such as new logo and branding. An exciting new membership programme has also been launched.
The board thanked the staff for their hard work and ongoing commitment through this time of renewal. Vice president and chairperson Warren Campbell said that the future for the Asthma Foundation WA is certainly very bright.
Exciting times ahead!
