WA Spirometry Training Course

The Asthma Foundation of WA, a Registered Training Organisation, offers training opportunities for health professionals and organisations with an interest or need in the area of asthma. A range of training options are available to help manage asthma within a variety of settings. The training package is designed according to your professional requirements and is delivered at our West Perth Training Centre or at your organisation if required.

WA Spirometry Training Course

AFWA is hosting Spirometry Workshops presented by leading respiratory scientists Graham Hall and Kevin Gain.

Spirometry is the most commonly performed test of respiratory function.  The current National Asthma Council guidelines include spirometry as the primary indicator of patient progress.

This course was developed by Senior Scientists from Royal Perth Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in conjunction with the Telethon Institute for Child Health and Research. It is endorsed by the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Australia and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science.

The aim of this course is to provide the essential skills and knowledge so that the person completing the course is competent in all aspects of performing high quality spirometry.
