Asthma Awareness for Pharmacy Assistants

The Asthma Foundation of WA, a Registered Training Organisation, offers training opportunities for health professionals and organisations with an interest or need in the area of asthma. A range of training options are available to help manage asthma within a variety of settings. The training package is designed according to your professional requirements and is delivered at our West Perth Training Centre or at your organisation if required.

Asthma Awareness for Pharmacy Assistants

A course designed to increase knowledge and awareness of asthma with a particular focus on medication interactions and asthma first aid. This course has been developed in conjunction with the Pharmacy Program, UWA and the Pharmaceutical Council of Western Australia.

Asthma Awareness for Pharmacy Assistants covers basic pathophysiology, triggers, medications, delivery devices, worsening asthma, how to manage an asthma emergency (asthma first aid) and when to refer to the pharmacist.
